Did you know that we are always looking for singers and musicians? If you feel called to sing or play in the praise team, please contact Steven Hasty, the music director.

Well, what type of music is it? Due to the church’s diverse backgrounds, we incorporate both traditional and contemporary music in our services. This allows effective worship for everyone in our church. Instruments include, but not excluded to: guitars, piano (keyboards), drums, bass, and voices.

Who is Steven? Steven is a young musician from Needville High School who grew up in Brazos Bend Baptist. He plays many instruments and learned music from the “Mighty Bluejay Band” in Needville. He’s currently writing songs, and has posted recorded music on www.myspace.com/stevenhasty. He is currently in college, and has been leading Brazos Bend Baptist in worship since December of 2005.

What if I can’t read music? For a singer, the ability to read music is always helpful, but not required. An ear for music is much more important. For instrumentalists, reading music becomes more of importance. Knowledge of basic chords is a bare minimum recommendation.
